New Book for Release in 2023

In her new book, From Fear to Freedom—Triumphing Over Abuse and Difficult Behaviors (2023), Durand illustrates with specific examples, the subtle face of abuse and manipulation and how it can manifest in an individual’s life. Her work is based on her own experiences with difficult personalities, as well as her research, training, workplace experience and her expertise developed in the field of conflict resolution and toxic personalities.

‘No, it is not your fault’ and ‘Yes, there is help.’

In the introduction to her book, Durand explains: “No, I haven’t been raped, savagely beaten, kidnapped, held in a closet, or nearly murdered. However, I have experienced, as an individual and a professional, much more subtle forms of aggression, which generate the often invisible, dangerous and cruel demise of self-esteem, health, and future happiness and success. It can cripple a person both inside and out and plagues many women who develop chronic disease through stress. I am talking about covert narcissism, covert aggressive behaviors, histrionics, and sociopathic and psychopathic activities that destroy a person at a slow pace before they even recognize what they are dealing with. My message is clear, ‘No, it is not your fault’ and ‘Yes, there is help.’”

"From Fear to Freedom—Triumphing Over Abuse and Difficult Behaviors"
"Jocelyne Durand’s book is a deeply personal account of a woman's decades-long journey into becoming a self-aware, self-responsible and an indefatigable person. I was deeply touched by the writer's intimate details of her struggles. It shows how anyone, female or male, can rise up out of abusive relationships and conquer all."

Seduced into Becoming an Innocent Prisoner of an Abusive Relationship

When I eventually rewon…
